Warranty & Returns

At Cartridge Specialists, we aim to make warranty and returns clear, fair, and straightforward. If something isn’t right, we’ll work with you to resolve it as quickly as possible.

Faulty Products

If a product is faulty, Cartridge Specialists will, at our discretion, repair, replace, or refund the item in accordance with Australian Consumer Law and the conditions below.

Warranty Periods

Genuine cartridges: 90 days
Compatible & re-manufactured cartridges: 12 months
Other products (including printers and hardware): as specified by the manufacturer

Conditions for Faulty Returns

To help us process your claim quickly:

The product must not have been refilled, modified, or tampered with
You must contact us to obtain a Return Authorisation (RA) before returning any item
Returned items may be inspected or tested
Proof of purchase may be required

In many cases, faulty cartridges do not need to be physically returned.
We often resolve issues by verifying the batch number on the cartridge itself.

Return Postage

Original shipping charges are not refundable
Customers are responsible for return postage where required
If a replacement is approved, we cover the shipping cost of the replacement item

Wrong Product Ordered

If an incorrect product has been ordered, Cartridge Specialists may accept a return for credit only, subject to the following:

A Return Authorisation (RA) is obtained prior to return
The product is returned within 7 days of receipt
The product is unused, unopened, and in resalable condition
The item is a normally stocked product
The product is returned via Registered Post

A 10% restocking fee applies.
Original shipping charges are not refundable.

Unused Cartridges Due to Printer Failure

If your printer fails and you are left with unused cartridges, we may consider accepting a return provided:

The cartridges are no more than 6 months old
They are sealed and fully resalable

Restocking fees:

10% if you purchase a replacement printer from us
25% if no replacement printer is purchased

Product Warranty Details

Genuine Printer Consumables

Genuine cartridges are covered by a replacement or refund warranty against defects in materials or workmanship when returned within 90 days of the invoice date (or as stated in the product description).

Returned items may be tested or referred to the manufacturer for assessment.
Processing times may vary depending on manufacturer requirements.

Compatible & Re-manufactured Consumables

Compatible and re-manufactured cartridges are covered by a 12-month warranty against defects in materials or workmanship.

They are also guaranteed against poor print quality for 30 days from receipt, provided a test print is supplied.

Other Products

All other products (including printers, hardware, and electronic components) are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty as stated in the product listing.

Equipment Damage Warranty

Cartridge Specialists supports the quality of its consumables and will meet reasonable repair costs for damage to printing equipment directly caused by a defective cartridge, provided that:

We are notified in writing within 14 days of the damage occurring
A signed statement from a qualified service technician is supplied confirming:
- The cartridge defect
- The damage caused
- That the defect directly caused the damage
- A quoted repair cost
Manufacturer confirmation is supplied if requested
Additional documentation is provided if required

Repairs may be carried out using refurbished or reconditioned parts where appropriate.
This represents the full extent of our liability under this warranty.
